Chat with Tony

In spite of being a notorious technophobe (not to mention compulsive dissembler), Prime Minister Tony Blair is to to use Microsoft's Instant Messenger to chat to 10 selected voters.

silicon.com - Tony Blair asks punters to chat on instant messaging

MSN is asking would-be politicos to submit their questions at www.msn.co.uk/pmwebchat. Microsoft will pick the winners, who will be able to ask the question in person to the PM by IM video conversation.

Blair is particularly keen to be grilled on Africa and climate change, MSN said.

Oh well, anyone who fancied asking Blair about Iraq, ID Cards, the Reg and Leg Bill, bought Peerages, dodgy loans, relying on Conservative support for key legislation, etc, might as well forget it. There'll be about as much substance and challenging content as in previous efforts.

Does make you wonder why he bothers. Surely no one still believes him?
